Went here twice during our stay in Modena.

The first time we had an excellent service. The girl who served us was always smiling, welcoming and very friendly. We ordered the gelato cone with 2 flavours and got a really nicely presented cone with a nice quantity of both flavors.
Since our experience was so great, we decided to go back 2 days later and this time was served by another girl. Unfortunately, it was a totally different experience.
Service was dry, not welcoming, more of a get to the point and tell me what you want service. We ordered the same exact items from 2 days before and paid for the 2 flavours and the cones wound up being less than HALF the size of our first ones and almost zero second flavour, even though we paid for 2, there was almost nothing. After seeing how bad the first 2 cones were made, the rest of the group decided to no longer order anything.
So, your experience and overall gelato will vary drastically based on who serves you it seems. Some love their job and others look like they don’t want to be there at all.
Unfortunately based on this, I would not return.

Also, out of all the gelatos we ate in Italy on vacation, this place had the most artificial flavours by far. Nothing at all tasted natural about it.
When you have this many flavors and it’s more about the visual presentation, it should be a sign to skip that place.

If you are a tourist in this area, you may see that this place has have a lot of reviews, but I would look for another place with more authentic gelato as chances it will be much better than here.

**Update - To the owner who replied back and can’t accept negative feedback, I feel bad for you. It was the opinion of all 4 people (not just mine) that it was our least favorite gelato on our trip to Italy. Nothing artificial about our review, I posted the bills from our SECOND visit to your place.

I also said we had an amazing experience by one of your workers, we did compliment that, but sadly it was the total opposite the second time which was a huge turn off. It was like after reading your style of comment, maybe some of your staff doesn’t like working for you. You should also train your staff on being consistent. One day you get one size and the other day less than half that size, makes no sense.

It’s not about artisanal work. To the group, the consensus BY EVERYONE was that it tasted fake. We didn’t feel that way about any other gelato shop we ate at and we had many! There was obviously a favourite, and some scored in the middle, but unfortunately, yours was last. I would have maybe give you 4 stars but the bad service the second time took another one off.

Oh ya, your granita was the most artificial tasting from the multiple cities we tried it in. The photo is a picture of one person not wanting to finish it due to how fake it tasted and left it in the sink almost full.

That's where I had my first gelato in Italy 🇮🇹 and it was the best so far! I had pistachio gelato and it was just wow! I had a lot of gelato in Milan, Florence, and many other places, but this place was my favorite! Just before my last day, I managed to get my gelato in the last 5 minutes before they closed. The lady was so nice and spoke English. She was sooo sweet

A gelateria that drew me in by looking so bright and shiny on a winter evening. Great variation in flavours, and the ones I chose tasted delicious! But the main factor why I immediately planned to return was the friendly girl behind the bar. She really cared and even offered practical help since I am new to this city. This made a huge impression!

Very very good ice cream!! Friendly staff. Highly recommended for ice cream lover! They have in cone with creams, cups, granita as well as yogurt. Oh and so crapes. They also have cakes for many occasions and other small desserts. They open also through out winter time.

One of my favorite place in Modena . Must visit at least twice a week . Huge delightful selection of gelatos and cakes. Park in front for quick pickup .
